The San Diego Bay Watersheds Common Grounds Project was created to incorporate data from water quality monitoring programs and integrate this data on a watershed level using a web-based interactive application to serve as a broad communication, education and decision-making tool; and to further develop the region's capacity to understand and assess processes affecting our water resources.

1907

IN 1907 , PRESIDENT THEODORE ROOSEVELT sent the Great White Fleet on a worldwide tour as a show of economic and naval strength. World War I brought increased army and navy activity with the establishment of Camp Kearny and defense facilities at Fort Rosecrans and North Island. San Diego's strategic position on the Pacific Coast gained greater attention with the creation of the Marine Base in 1919 and the Naval Training Station two years later.

1915

THE 1915 PANAMA-CALIFORNIA EXPOSITION brought fame and recognition to the city. It also brought several million visitors to the San Diego area. Thanks in part to the fair, the city's population nearly doubled from 40,000 to 75,000 between 1910 and 1920. The fair also established an identity for San Diego -- one that would bloom in the next generation.
